  • 1 x miter saw
  • 1 * Bar Hinge
  • 1 * Sandpaper
  • 1 x Orbital Sander
  • 1 * brush
  • 1 x wood preservative

Cut out the wooden rabbit house

A rabbit house is actually just a retreat for your rabbits. The rabbits do not attach great importance to a perfect domestic atmosphere, they only need a square box, which you can enter through a hole or a recess. The following construction plan for a rabbit house, which you can build yourself, was only created from a purely practical point of view.

  1. First cut out the four sides of your rabbit house. To do this, use 2 cm thick beech wood panels, each with a 45-degree miter on the short sides. The dimensions of the four panels should each be 60 cm x 40 cm.
  2. After you have cut out the four side pieces, you will also need a lid. Cut this out of 1 cm thick beech wood to the dimensions 60 cm x 60 cm. Then screw one leg of a 60 cm long piano hinge to this cover.
  3. Now make a 20 cm x 20 cm recess in two of the four side parts. Simply cut a square hole in each side panel. The rabbits can then get inside the rabbit house through these holes.

  1. Now that you have cut all the wooden parts, you should sand everything down lightly with sandpaper and then paint with wood preservative. Look for wood preservatives that are non-toxic.
  2. Then, when the wood preservative has dried properly, glue the four side pieces together. The 40 cm sides are glued together to form a square. Then clamp everything down with screw clamps. To be on the safe side, you can also screw in 3 screws on each side 1 cm from the edge.
  3. When the wood glue has dried, screw the other free leg of the piano hinge to a side panel and your rabbit house is complete.

Wear safety goggles when trimming the rabbit house. Have fun building!
